Post-Exam Instructions

After your cardiac examination, it is important to follow the appropriate steps to ensure accurate results and proper follow-up. Please review the instructions below:

  1. Wait for the Doctor’s Review
Your cardiologist will analyze your test results and explain the findings. Some exams require additional time for interpretation (e.g., Holter monitor, ultrasound, stress test).
  2. Follow Medication Adjustments
If your treatment plan has been updated, make sure to follow the new dosages and instructions carefully. Do not stop or change any medication without medical advice.
  3. Monitor Your Symptoms
Pay attention to any changes such as chest discomfort, shortness of breath, dizziness, or palpitations. If symptoms worsen or become severe, seek medical attention immediately.
  4. Resume Activities as Instructed
Depending on the type of examination performed, you may be advised to:

    • avoid strenuous activity for a few hours
    • resume normal activities right away
    • follow specific restrictions (e.g., after a stress test)

  5. Schedule Follow-Up Appointments
Your cardiologist may request a follow-up visit to review detailed results, adjust your treatment, or recommend additional tests.
  6. Lifestyle Recommendations
Based on your results, you may receive advice regarding diet, exercise, smoking cessation, weight control, or stress management. Follow these recommendations to support your heart health.
  7. Contact the Clinic if Needed
If you have concerns, questions about your results, or experience unusual symptoms, do not hesitate to reach out to the clinic.
